Ashley K. Simpson is from the island of Maui. She was born in Wailuku and raised in Kihei. She is the fourth child of six. She learned to play the piano at the age of seven and always enjoyed singing with her family.
She graduated from Baldwin High School and continued her education at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah. It was there in Provo where she joined a nine, female a Capella group called Noteworthy and had many wonderful experiences which included a CD release entitled On The Horizon. She was featured as a soloist in the following song: Isn't She Lovely. She graduated with a degree in Marriage, Family and Human Development.
She returned to Hawaii and soon after married her sweetheart, Kaipo Simpson in 2007. In December of 2007, she began performing locally with Ho'okahileo but now she performs with Kaui Kitashima, Tyrone Heen, and Josh Makaiwi. Collectively they have performed for parties, weddings, banquets, Polynesian shows, restaurants, and many other venues.
