Joshua Nainoa Keonaona Makaiwi was born and raised in the historic plantation town of Wahiawa on the island of Oahu.  He graduated from Kamehameha in 2002, and also served a two-year mission in Japan for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

     He feels that without music, his life would be unbalanced.  Music has always helped him lift his potential to higher levels.  Joshua started the 'ukulele and cello at eleven years old, and picked up the guitar a year later.  Throughout the years, he have also learned the electric guitar, steel guitar, bass and keyboard. 

He recently graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in Hawaiian Studies and also married the love of his life Kealani Ah Puck.  They are expecting twin boys very soon!!!
